ImbolcOn the Imbolc card we see that darkness is beginning to decline. The
sky is deep blue. The child's mother stands facing an angel who has appeared before
her.
This illustration draws on the Imbolc theme of the goddess as virgin. We are asked to
consider that the historical fulfillment of this story has taken place in the when the
God-bearer, the mother of the divine child, is promised this birth by an angel of the
divine.
A youth, the divine Sun of Righteousness, stands before a group of elders.
The child is here shown teaching the elders, thus demonstrating growth in wisdom and
maturity, and possessing the ability to reveal divine mysteries.
An altar is standing in the centre decorated with a single white flower.
The white flower is a symbol of cleansing as we seek the initiation of new life of
wisdom following the divine child.
We move now to a time of harmony. Are there things in our lives that prevent
harmony? What are the things bind us? We turn then to Ostara, a time of harmony.
