Part1 I trailer the big Honda to the base of Reefton Spur. I ride to Cumberland Junction where I turn left onto the Big River Road. Then to Stockman's Reward and further to 25 Mile Creek. Here I take Hope Track up to the Mt Terrible Track where I turn left and on to Mt Terrible. Camera = Canon A540 + Oregon Scientific ATC-2K(helmet camera)

Part 2 I stayed in the Mt Terrible refuge hut and climbed the comms tower. Next morning I descended via Polettis track to the main Woodspoint road. Notice that I roll most of the way to save fuel as my tank is on reserve. I limp into a camp area and a good person fills my 10 litre tank so I can continue on my way to Knockwood. I pass the townships of Kevington and Ten-mile on the way.

Part 3 I spend the night at the Knockwood cabin and next day embark on the final leg of my solo trip. The Moonlight Spur track(now called "Knockwood Track")has for many years been a popular challenge for 4x4's and trail bikes. It starts at the Knockwood bridge, crosses Gaffney's Ck and Moonlight Ck then climbs steeply for 10KMs to the top of the range. Here it intersects with the "Terrible Tk" where I turn right and proceed about 2 K's to the top of Hope Track. I have completed a loop and now proceed down Hope Track and back along the Big River Road and eventually down Reefton Spur to where I parked the car. I hope this video will be of interest to those travelling on these tracks as it will reveal to them the latest track conditions.(substantial changes have occured since the 2006 fires) Also I would like to thank Honda for producing a great bike...the Honda("pick a gear") XR600 ... the ultimate off roader.
