A "living, breathing forest, complete with waterways and bushfire scars"
(The Age, 9/8), and with a unique biodiversity already exists. It is truly
a gallery of life, and only a few hours from Melbourne. It is Goolengook.
It does not need $3 million to be realised, it just needs protection -
firstly from logging and secondly from a society that values a replication
over reality.

The '70s song goes: "They took away our trees and put 'em in a tree
museum, and charged the people a dollar and a half just to see 'em." While
our forests are woodchipped and city parks clearfelled for sports stadiums,
our new museum will house a rainforest.
