Silt catchment

I am amazed that logging is occurring in our so-called pristine water catchments. I find it hard to believe that activities are allowed in our catchments that pollute our drinking water and reduce the yield in these times of drought. No wonder so much chlorine is being added to remove pollution.

Is this the reason that the millions of dollars spent on building the Thomson Dam are being wasted because the dam is filling with silt?
