ICPKP provides Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)

You can cross-credit prior learning towards the International Diploma Status. If you have previously taken a PKP course you are already part way towards your Diploma in Kinesiology.

How do the new units compare with the old PKP I - IV workshops?

The ICPKP Diploma units cover material in greater depth.

Emotional Stress Release (ESR) was a 30 min teaching in the old PKP II workshop. The rest you ’picked-up’ by watching your teacher do demonstration balances and doing a lot of ’holding-and-hoping’.

ESR occupies a whole two day workshop in the new Diploma programme. You really get to know and feel confident and competent with the technique of ESR. The workshop is called EMS 201.

There is much more opportunity to explore, practise and experience techniques.

There is time to gather feedback, and participate in thought-provoking group discussion.

Some practising Kinesiologists with many years of clinical experience have still received great benefit from taking the new ICPKP classes and have enjoyed the new approach to learning.

What about Touch For Health Kinesiology students?...[more]

"Old" PKP Students can fit into the new system
with ease and grace.
PKP students who have taken PKP I, II, III or IV can all be incorporated into the new system.

This is how it is done:

A)  PKP Graduates who have completed PKP I - IV
You have completed a training series. You have taken the old PKP system. There are some highly recommended ’extra’ bits in the new PKP Certification Program™  that we suggest you can take. See the ( four) points below.

You will agree, there is no way that you can have possibly have learned as much in 26 days (5+7+7+7) as people doing the 120 days (60x2) of training with supervised pactice sessions, weekly assessments and feedback at each stage of their learning. There simply was not the time in the old workshops to cover all the material in the detail it deserves or to do the personal workouts or make the personal growth that occurs in the new programme. (Some things PKP II covered in less than an hour now have the 15 hours of class time they deserve.) An ICPKP Registered Kinesiologist will have had more skills training in the new program.

B)  PKP Students can fit into the new system with ease and grace.
PKP students who have taken PKP can be incorporated into the new system. You can complete the old system and be listed as a kinesiologist (PKP IV) using the PKP Protocol. However, if you want the new ICPKP International Diploma and ICPKP Registered Kinesiologist status you are wise to consider changing now

  1. PKP I graduates can come in at BKP 106.

You are wisest to convert to the new system.
You will take some early units and later ’skip’ some other classes (and just do the assessments)
You have not covered the pain stuff in 106 or the food stuff in 107 in detail so need to start classes at BKP 106.
We will mark your Assessment Journal and sign on the ICPKP website that you have completed BKP101.
You can then sit the BKP101 exam (10 multiple choice questions) on the website.
You are now ready to do BKP 102.
The investment is about  a quarter of the class fee.
Later in the course there are other units that you as a PKP I graduate may also wish to attend or you can simply sit the assessments for the involved MST and JAF Units. The units involved are:
MST 201, MST 301, MST 302
JAF 201, JAF 301
  1. PKP II graduates can start at BKP 110.

We think you are wise to convert to the new system, even though it may seem to you that you are partly through the old system.
You will take some early units and later may ’skip’ some other classes (and just do the assessments)
You have not covered the material on records in BKP 110 at all (in PKP I or II) for example.
for BKP101 - BKP109, you only need do the Assessments.
However, because you have not covered the food stuff in 107 in detail in PKP II by the time you have worked through the BKP 101 - 106 Assessment Journals, you may want to take the BKP 107 workshop rather than just work through that assessment. The investment is about  a quarter of the class fee.

Later in the course there are other units that you as a PKP II graduate do not have to attend. You can just work through the Assessments. The units involved are:

MST 201, MST 301, MST 302, MST 303
JAF 201, JAF 301
ECO 201

  1. PKP III graduates can 'start' at EMS 201

We think you are wise to convert to the new system, even though it may seem to you that you are well through the old system.

Change, if you wish to attain the ICPKP International Diploma.
There are at least eight more modules from the new program to do after PKP IV.
It is up to you. If you want to convert, here is what to do:
It is strongly recommended you start with EMS 201. It is two full days of ESR skills.  You have not covered this important unit in any of your training to date. You covered this material in less than an hour in the old system of training.
You may also wish to attend a BKP 110 class as records were not covered in the old PKP series.
The investment is about  a quarter of the class fee.
As a PKP III graduate YOU have already covered many other units and mostly you may choose to do the Assessment Journals and sit the exams. The units involved are:
MST 201, MST 301, MST 302, MST 303
JAF 201, JAF 301
ECO 201, ECO 202
EMS 301, EMS 302

We are aware that it must seem strange that YOU must do EMS 201 but can just do the assessments for EMS 301 and EMS 302. This is because the areas covered in EMS 201 were not covered at all well in the old PKP II or PKP III workshops.

  1. PKP IV graduates can also ’start’ at EMS 201.

You have finished the old system.
We would recommend you do take the extra material from the new PKP Certification Program™.
Ask us when we are offering the courses you want (or check the course schedule). There are at least eight workshops (eg. EMS 201 - Mastery of ESR or RBT 201 and 301 - Trigger Points) to consider.
We strongly recommend EMS 201. It is two full days of ESR skills. You have not covered this important unit in any of your training to date. You covered this material in less than an hour in the old system of training.
You, too, may also wish to attend a BKP 110 class as records were not covered in the old PKP series.
Our college offers BKP 110 at repeater rates to PKP IV graduates.
However, if you want the  ICPKP International Diploma - you will need to do all assessments and take several units.
As a PKP IV graduate have already covered many units and for these, mostly you may choose to complete the Assessment Journals and sit the exams. The units involved are:
MST 201, MST 301, MST 302, MST 303,
JAF 201, JAF 301
ECO 201, ECO 202, ECO 301
EMS 301, EMS 302, EMS 303, EMS 304

There may be other units that some of you PKP IV graduates feel you can cope with by just completing the Assessment Journals. We may allow you to do this after discussion with college faculty.

PKP4 Graduates note: Yes, there are quite a few ’extra’ bits in the new PKP Certification Program™. You now have the opportunity to take the relevant new workshops to gain this information. They become part of your CEU (continuing education units) that will become a lifetime habit.

However, we do have to ask everyone who wants the ICPKP International Kinesiology Diploma (and listing as an ICPKP Registered Kinesiologist) to complete the same Assessments as the new students.

It is a highly sought-after qualification.

Where you have areas of lesser skill, we suggest you take the new unit, especially seeing our college offers you repeater rates.

Once again, we have to ask anyone who wants to get the ICPKP International Kinesiology Diploma to complete the same Assessments as the new students. It is not about us thinking you do not know the material. It is about you achieving Competency by showing you can do the Performance Criteria for each part of the course. This builds confidence and self esteem. The old system only had exams for teachers. The new system allows all of us to show we are Competent Kinesiologists.

I have training prior to starting Kinesiology
Where a Kinesiologist can produce a certificate of proficiency (or equivalent assessment) in any units, this unit will then be credited towards their Diploma. An example of this might be a Registered Nurse who has taken Anatomy and Physiology as a University course.

Touch For Health Kinesiology Graduates may receive credits for prior studies in TFH. These may be taken into consideration and discussed with the applicant. The criteria  is based on relevant equivalent studies and qualifications as well as proficiency (NB: TFH was created purely for laypersons. PKP - as its name implies - is for Professional Kinesiology studies). If successful, the cost for the first three to four units may be reduced - an acknowledgement by the college for your prior learning. All the above, however, is subject to personal interview with college faculty. We encourage the successful TFH applicant to leave "TFH" at the door and to begin to warm to a professional attitude. BKP provides a better and different depth and perspective, with assessments as to competency, providing a highly sought-after professional qualification.
