Dr Pao Saykao
I am a Hmong from Lao and have been in Australia since 1972. I was born in the north-east of Laos
where I spent my first two years of my schooling. From the young age of 8 years old, I left home to go to school. My journey went through Phakhao to Vientiane then back to College de Samthong. After Samthong fell to the communist, I moved back to Vientiane then to Luang Prabang before leaving for Australia in 1972, as a recipient of an Australian scholarship.
I continued my high school study in
Canberra until 1974. I moved for the last time to Melbourne to study at Monash University where I graduated in Medicine in
1980.
Half of my family is now living with me. I am married to Natrudy and we have 4 children (Justin Phooj Ywg,
Selena Nkauj Hli, Dexter Txwjci and Mekala Nkauj Huab).
Currently, I am in private practice in Melbourne, Australia.
